The Beaches

Most of the beaches on Koh Kood are placed on the western side of the island. Tapao Beach and the Khlong Chao Bay are the most popular ones.

Tapao Beach is the gateway to the Koh Kood as it is the only port of this island. This beach is also famous as a great snorkeling spot. Besides snorkeling, it is also a good site for swimming.

Khlong Chao Bay is on the western side of the island and is at the south side of the Tapao Beach. The beach is also perfect for swimming and kayaking because of the presence of the lovely canal here named the “Khlong Chao”, which is stretching through the beach.

The Ta Tin Beach is on the northeast section of the island. This shore is reachable by boat only.

Yai Kerd Beach is a very tiny beach on the northeastern side of the island that too is accessible only by boat. Yai Ki Beach is a very attractive beach that has a canal called “Khlong Yai Ki” passing through.

Kluai Beach is located next to Yai Kerd Beach once you cross the Kluai Cape. It is well-known for its slender white sand and sea weed.

Bang Bao Beach, Takian Beach and Prao Beach are next to Ngam Ko Beach which are the last beaches on the southwestern part of the island.

The Waterfalls

The Klong Chao Waterfall is considered to be the most picturesque islands of Koh Kood, that are gushing into a huge pool offering the tourists a comfortable site for some freshwater swimming. It is stuffed in the jungle and can be accessed by a boat from the Away Resort and The Hub Activity Center.

Fishing Village

The Fishing Village is situated at the Ao Salad. Here you get to see the traditional lifestyle of their dwellers as well as the magnificence of their nature. The villagers are very welcoming and pleased to greet you. You get to buy fresh seafood here.

Surrounding

Koh Rang islands

The Koh Rang or Rang Island is away from the Trad’s coast and is about 30 minutes in distance via boat from Koh Kood. The zone is made up of six islands which are namely Koh Thong Lang, Koh Kra, Koh Rang Yai, Koh Tien, and Koh Rang Lek. Most of them are famous as snorkeling sites. Only the Koh Rang Yai and Koh Kra are suitable for swimming because of its beach.

The finest beach on the Koh Rang Yai Island belongs to San Chao Beach. It is placed at the end of the eastern side of the island. The San Chao Beach has fine sand on it and the water is pristine here. One can go to the Koh Rang Lek from here, which is another very good snorkeling spot.
A noteworthy feature of this island is a small water reservoir it has which serves as the main water supply for Koh Rang Yai.

Koh Mak : The third largest island in Trad Province, Koh Mak covers an area of 13 square kilometers and is surrounded by 8 smaller islands.
